The Grange’s New York showroom was abuzz recently with the release of its Spring 2013 lines, featuring the Tappiserie Collection by Kathryn M. Ireland and the Columbus Collection by Steve McKenzie. Their looks are rich with design, texture and color, and we were particularly excited to see so much linen in their collections.
Leading US designers Kathryn M. Ireland and Steve McKenzie both have lines launching in Grange’s Spring 2013 catalog.
Ms. Kathryn M. Ireland is considered one of the most influential designers in the world, and was named one of the Top 100 Designers in the US by House Beautiful Magazine and recently named one of Elle Decor’s A-List Designers. Her signature style has been described as comfortable, bohemian, and family friendly, with large splashes of color that are outside of the box. Kathryn has written four books, including her newest, “Timeless Interiors.” She has also appeared on two seasons of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Decorators.*
Mr. Steve McKenzie‘s Columbus Collection is inspired by the clean lines and adventurous shapes of 1960s modern architecture in Columbus, Indiana – ranked 6th in the nation for its architectural innovation with buildings by Eero Saarinen, I.M Pei and others. He has created a collection of upholstery rooted in the history of classicism, but breaking out of tradition. He blends multiple styles to create a new take on luxury seating.*

Spring Sunset I, II, and III – The mixed-media painting above the bed is a Steve McKenzie creation. The abstract is created on linen panels, with a focus on gestural line and the connection between disparate elements from another time. Applying dry pigments, acrylic paint and graphite over a ground of smooth, venetian plaster, McKenzie embeds 19th century European documents and other ephemera into his paintings, composing striking compositional structures.
